Jika Anda salah satu pengguna Windows XP, rilis terbaru dari Windows 7 merupakan alternatif akhir untuk menggantikan Windows XP. Jika Vista setengah matang, Windows 7 adalah Windows yang sesungguhnya dapat menggantikan Windows Xp dan Vista.

Tapi sebelum anda beralih total menggunakan Windows 7, ada baiknya anda mempelajari tersebih dahulu penggunaan Windows 7 dengan membuat dual boot antara Windows Xp dan Windows 7, sehingga Windows Xp anda tetap dapat digunakan dan anda juga dapat mempelajari Windows 7

Untuk membuat Dual Boot Windows Xp dan Windows 7 di komputer anda, ada beberapa langkah yang harus dilakukan antaralain :

Software yang dibutuhkan :

1). Software Pembagi Partisi seperti Easus Partition Master
2). Windows 7 Bootable DVD.
3). Driver Hardware yang compatible dengan Windows 7

Langkah-langkahnya ;

1). Membuat Backup

Walaupun Easeus Partisi Master dapat menyesuaikan partisi dengan aman sekaligus menjaga keutuhan data, Anda ingin membuat cadangan semua data Anda untuk berjaga-jaga. Mungkin hanya membuat salinan semua file data pada CD / DVD atau pada hard disk eksternal. Walaupun mungkin terdengar seperti berlebihan, memiliki cadangan ekstra akan memberikan ketenangan pikiran.

2). Membuat Paritisi Untuk Windows 7

* Setelah Anda men-download dan menginstal Easeus Partisi Master Home Edition, partisi ulang hardisk Windows XP sangat mudah. Ketika Anda memulai Easus Partisi Master, Anda akan melihat partisi Anda dalam tampilan pengguna yang baik dan terorganisir, seperti yang ditunjukkan Gambar . Minimal kapasitas partisi hardisk untuk windows 7 sebesar 20 Gb.

* Untuk memulai, pilih partisi dan kemudian klik menu Resize/Move. Bila Anda melihat kotak dialog Resize/Move Partisi, tentukan ukuran partisi baru pada kotak Ukuran Partisi. Contohnya bagi dua partisi 160GB sehingga menjadi 80Gb. kemudian tulis atau drag size hardisk ke posisi bagi 2 seperti terlihat pada gambar:

* Bila anda sudah selesai membagi partisi hardisk anda, tekan tombol apply, akan muncul pesan untuk meminta merestart komputer anda, klik tombol “Yes”, komputer anda akan restart dan booting kembali, sebelum masuk ke system Windows, Easus akan melakukan proses membagi partisi hardisk anda, tunggu sampai proses selesai, kemungkinan komputer akan restart kembali dan booting sampai masuk ke system windows, maka partisi anda sudah selesai dibuat.

Menginstall Windows 7 pada Partisi yang baru

* Setelah masuk ke Windows Xp, memasukkan DVD Windows 7 ke DVD Room dan restart Windows XP. Ketika sistem anda boot dari DVD, Anda akan mulai prosedur instalasi seperti biasa. Ketika Anda akan diminta untuk memilih jenis instalasi, pilih Custom (advanced)
* Anda akan diminta untuk memilih di mana Anda ingin menginstal Windows 7, seperti, Pilih partisi yang baru yang masih kosong (Jangan pilih paritisi tempat Windows Xp). Kemudian klik tombol Next dan lanjutkan dengan prosedur instalasi.

Booting Windows 7

Ketika Anda me-restart sistem, Anda akan melihat menu pilihan Booting Windows dan Anda akan melihat bahwa nama Windows lama (Xp) dan Versi baru dari Windows, seperti yang ditunjukkan pada Gambar:

Sekarang Anda dapat dengan mudah boot antara Windows XP dan Windows 7 dan bermigrasi pengaturan dan data pada waktu luang Anda. Ketika Anda siap untuk mengganti Windows XP, Anda sudah benar-benar memahami Windows 7 yang akan menjadi OS utama Anda.

Dengan cara ini kita bisa menginstal OS windows melalui flashdisk sehingga merupakan solusi yang sangat cocok buat kamu yang ingin menginstall windows jika tidak memiliki CD-Rom,misal di netbook. Sekarang ada solusi lain yang sama persis dengan ini, kita bisa menjadikan sebuah flashdisk untuk menginstall windows di sebuah komputer. Yang saya maksud adalah software WinToFlash , sebuah program yang berukuran sekitar 6MB , dengan WinToFlash kita bisa memindahkan semua isi dari cd installer windows dan menjadikan flashdisk tersebut bootable dan siap digunakan untuk menginstall os windows. Cukup dengan mendownload WinToFlash , lalu kita tinggal menjalankan beberapa step maka akan mendapatkan sebuah flashdisk yang bootable.

Berikut yang harus disiapkan dan langkah-langkahnya menginstal OS windows dengan menggunakan WinToFlash ;

- Flashdisk ( min, 1GB untuk XP dan 4GB untuk 7-Vista)

- Sebuah komputer dengan cd/dvd room untuk membuat flashdisk yang bootable

- Komputer tanpa cd room ( komputer yang mau di install windowsnya )

Step-step nya ;

1. Download WinToFlash di,
http://wintoflash.com/download/en/

2. Extract file yang sudah didownload, lalu carifile WinToFlash.exe

3. Klik windows setup transfer wizard

5. Pada langkah ini pilih drive (cd rom ) dimana cw installer windows berada, sedangkan untuk usb drive , pilih drive dari flashdisk kamu.

6. Setelah memilih ke 2 driver diatas, selanjutnya klik NEXT

7. selanjutnya kita akan melihat menu popup "I Accepted the terms of the license agreement" tekan saja CONTINUE

8. selanjutnya kita akan diminta untuk memformat flashdisk kamu
pesanya sebagai berikut :
Warning! Formatting will erase ALL DATA on target disk. To format press OK, to quit press Cancel

9. setelah kita klik OK flashdisk akan di format dan selanjutnya proses transfer file installer windows ke flashdisk akan berjalan.

10. Selanjutnya tunggu sampai FINISH , setelah selesai kamu sudah mempunyai sebuah flashdisk bootable dan siap untuk menginstal di setiap komputer atau laptop tanpa cd-rom

Berikut step ketika akan menginstall dengan menggunakan flashdisk bootable ini
1. masukan flashdisk di komputer yang akan di install
2. booting komputer tersebut dari flashdisk

Kalau anda belum tau bagaimana cara boot dari flashdisk, ketika kamu menyalakan komputer /notebook pertama sekali tekan F2 lalu masuk ke menu bios.
cari menu boot , lalu pilih flashdisk/removable media sebagai primary boot device, lalu tekan F10 untuk Save and Exit, setelah itu restart pc / notebook kamu, sekarang kamu sudah boot dari flashdisk dan pilih
1st, text mode setup (Boot from flash again after finished) ,

setelah restart pertama pilih
2nd, GUI mode setup, continue setup + 1st start of Windows ,
selanjutnya proses install dapat dimulai.

Tips ini hanya sekedar untuk mencegah PC anda diambil data pribadi nya oleh orang lain yang tidak anda inginkan, adapun langkah-langkah tips ini yaitu ;

1. Masuk Registry. Caranya : Klik Start > RUN > ketik REGEDIT > OK
2. Klik HKEY_LOCALMACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControl
3. Klik kanan pada folder Control, kemudian Klik Edit > New > Key
Beri nama pada key baru tersebut dengan nama “StorageDevicePolicies” ( tanpa tanda ” )

4. Klik kanan folder “StorageDevicePolicies”, Klik Edit > New > Dword Value
5. Ubah namanya menjadi “WriteProtect” ( tanpa tanda ” )
6. Double Klik pada “WriteProtect”, ganti Value Data menjadi 1
7. Restart Komputer

Setelah restart kita coba melakukan transfer file dari komputer ke flashdisk…

Untuk mengembalikannya nanti langkahnya sama, hanya saja pada langkah 6 Value Datanya di ubah menjadi 0

What should I know : Flashdisk Tidak Bisa Terdeteksi Oleh PC

Pernakah anda mengalami masalah seperti judul diatas, mungkin beberapa hal yang patut dicurigai ketika UFD (USB Flash Disk) yang kita miliki tidak terdeteksi saat dicolok ke PC, antara lain :

- Port USB Rusak

- Setting bermasalah ( Bios, Windows)

- Driver bermasalah

- Rusak secara Fisik

- Mencabut UFD tanpa safely remove di OS

- dll

Untuk mencoba mengatasinya maka dapat dilakukan beberapa hal berikut ini :
1. Coba colok USB kita pada Port USB yang lain /pindah-pindah, jika belum berhasil coba colokan ke PC lain, apabila berhasil maka USB kita tidak bermasalah dan kecurigaan 100% kepada PC.

2. Atau dilakukan sebaliknya, coba colokan USB lain di PC kita (jika ada)/ atau perangkat lain yang menggunakan usb port. Dengan asumsi, jika alat yang kita hubungkan terdeteksi, maka port USB tidak bermasalah.

3. Cek di settingan BIOS barangkali disable sengaja atau tidak, hal ini bisa saja terjadi perubahan setting dengan tidak kita sadari manakala baterai MotherBoard kita udah soak / lemah.

4. Cek di Device Manager , caranya :

- klik start > settings > Control Panels.

- Dobel Klik pada icon system,

- Setelah terbuka jendela Syistem Properties, klik tab Hardware

- Klik tombol Device Manager

- Kemudian cek di bagian Universal Serial Bus Controllers, terlihat ada masalah

- Tanda tanya pada bagian ini menandakan hardware tidak dikenal atau td ada driver

- Tanda silang berwarna merah pada bagian ini menandakan disable, maka jika ini terjadi lakukan klik kanan dan pilih enable

- Termasuk dalam hal ini kemungkinan perlu install ulang driver USB Flash disk

5. Cek pada registry, caranya :

- Klik Start > Run

- Ketikan : regedit kemudian enter

- Masuk ke : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor

- Pada value Dwords harus bernilai 3 (enable), jika bukan 3 maka update dengan 3 lalu close dan restart

6. Kemungkinan yang lainnya adalah PC terjangkit Virus, maka harus dibersihkan dari virus dengan menggunakan anti virus

7. Jika mencurigai sebuah software yang baru diinstall sebagai penyebabnya maka coba uninstall dahulu software tersebut.

8. Coba gunakan software utiliti untuk find dan mount partisi ( mudah2an bisa).

Nama Windows 7 edisi ini adalah, Windows 7 Ultimate Lite Full). Kapasitasnya memang kecil saat didownload, tapi setelah di extract menjadi sekitar 3GB.

Activation:
It is not required, because it is OEM. Windows will be premanently activated.
However, it is well known that there is some problems with DELL and HP machines.
So if you have issues with pre-activation you will be forced to some activator to activate Windows 7.

Perangkat komputer mempunyai beberapa komponen yang saling berhubungan satu sama lain. Processor, mainboard, memory, hardisk, VGA, CD/DVD, dan komponen lain yang terpasang didalam sebuah casing hanya akan bekerja bila didukung oleh satu perangkat penting yaitu Power Supply (PSU). Sesuai dengan namanya, power supply adalah pemasok utama daya listrik ke komponen-komponen sebuah komputer. Selain itu, perangkat ini juga berfungsi mengubah tegangan AC ke DC. Umumnya voltase yang dikeluarkan oleh Power Supply komputer adalah +3,3Volt, +5 Volt, +12 Volt, -5 Volt, -12 Volt, dan + 5 Volt Stand-By.

Kebanyakan orang kurang memperhatikan keberadaan komponen power supply, karena biasanya ketika membeli sebuah casing komputer sudah termasuk power supply didalamnya, serta dengan daya yang macam-macam misalnya 350 Watt, 450 Watt, 500 Watt, dan lain sebagainya. Padahal keberadaan power supply ini turut mempengaruhi harga casing.

Mungkin akan terasa menarik bagi Anda jika mendapati casing dengan harga sekitar Rp. 200.000 sampai dengan Rp. 300.000, termasuk komponen power supply dengan wattage yang besar misalnya 400/500 Watt semisal Simbadda. Namun justru disinilah bahaya yang siap mengancam komputer anda, karena dengan harga yang seperti tersebut diatas, bisa dipastikan anda tidak akan memperoleh komponen power supply yang berkualitas atau pure watt. Harga untuk sebuah power supply yang berkualitas baik berkisar antara Rp. 400.000 sampai dengan Rp. 2 juta. Memang terasa mahal dibandingkan dengan harga casing itu sendiri.
Power supply ibarat sebuah jantung. Komponen lain dalam komputer harus disuplai tenaga oleh jantung yang bagus dan sehat, agar bekerja dengan semestinya. Hal yang paling sering menyebabkan terjadinya kerusakan pada komponen komputer sebagian besar adalah akibat power supply murahan denga kualitas kurang bagus. Karena itu, jangan menganggap enteng kebutuhan akan power supply yang berkualitas baik. Berikut ciri-ciri power supply yang berkualitas :

Hal ini disebabkan karena power supply yang bagus menggunakan bahan – bahan terpilih, misalnya kabel-kabelnya memiliki serat tembaga yang lebih tebal, kapasitor yang ada didalamnya menggunakan kapasitor yang lebih banyak jumlahnya, dan lilitan kabel pada kumparan-kumparannya pun lebih banyak. Graphics integrated maupun dedicated dari ATI dan NVIDIA menjadi pilihan bagi kita yang ingin kecepatan lebih di aplikasi graphics dan game 3D. Di sini saya akan membedakan dulu 2 jenis tipe GPU berdasarkan penempatannya, yang pertama ;

Integrated Graphics

Suatu graphics disebut integrated bila fungsi graphics itu ada dalam suatu chip yang sekaligus melakukan fungsi komunikasi dengan prosessor, memory, disamping fungsi graphics. Contoh integrated graphics yang digunakan di notebook saat ini di pasaran Indonesia:

    * ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200
    * Intel Graphics Media Accelerator - GMA ) 900 / 950 / X3100 / X4500M / X4500MHD
    * NVIDIA GeForce 9100M / 9400M
    * SiS Mirage 3+
    * VIA Chrome9

Keuntungan awal dari graphics integrated adalah dari segi konsumsi listrik yang rendah sehingga kapasitas baterai notebook bisa tahan lebih lama. Keuntungan berikutnya dari integrated graphics adalah fisik yang lebih ringkas dan lebih hemat tempat sehingga notebook bisa dibuat lebih tipis atau lebih kecil. Bisa dilihat dibawah gambar dari 2 contoh graphics integrated. Yang kiri adalah dari Intel, sedangkan yang kanan NVIDIA.

Fisiknya hanyalah sebuah chip yang sekaligus merupakan controller prosessor. NVIDIA bahkan lebih hemat lagi dengan menyatukan graphics, controller prosessor, dan controller peripherals dalam satu chips ( Intel saat ini masih terdiri dari 2 chips ). Memory untuk graphics diambil dari memori utama komputer.

Dari segi performance, maka sistem graphics dari ATI dan NVIDIA hingga awal tahun 2010 memimpin dari Intel, SiS, ataupun VIA. Keunggulan performance ini yang dimanfaatkan oleh AMD ( ATI adalah perusahaan milik pabrik prosessor AMD ) dan NVIDIA untuk bersaing melawan dominasi Intel di prosessor.

Mungkin banyak diantara kita yang bertanya-tanya, sebenarnya berapakah batas toleransi suhu prosesor yang kita pakai ?..

Mungkin post ini bisa membantu memperkirakan ambang batas suhu maksimum prosesor yang kita gunakan.

Sebenarnya suhu di dalam casing komputer tidak hanya tergantung pada suhu processor (CPU) saja, tetapi komponen lain seperti VGA, chipset motherboard juga ikut menentukan. Termasuk juga fan atau kipas akan sangat membantu dalam mengurangi suhu yang berlebih. Untuk detail suhu masing-masing tipe processor biasanya sudah dijelaskan detail di website vendor processor seperti AMD dan Intel.

Sebagai gambaran, berikut daftar processor dan perkiraan suhu maksimum-nya :

Daftar diatas bukan merupakan nilai mutlak,Tetapi paling tidak daftar diatas memberikan gambaran kepada kita perkiraan suhu maksimum CPU, sehingga kita bisa menjaga agar suhu processor tetap normal ( rata-rata dibawah 50°C). Kemudian untuk menjaga kerusakan, biasanya di setting atau pengaturan BIOS ada opsi untuk mengatur berapa batas suhu maksimal processor. Jika pengeturan ini diaktifkan, maka ketika suhu processor mencapai nilai tertentu, kadang komputer akan otomatis mati, untuk mencegah kerusakan processor.

Sebenarnya ini bukan teknologi baru dalam bidang grafis atau gaming saat ini, teknologi yang diberi nama nVidia Hybrid SLI ini pertama dikenalkan pada sekitar 2005.
Prinsip dasar dari teknologi hybrid SLI adalah, menggabungkan kinerja 2 buah GPU(Graphic Processing Unit) yaitu GPU onboard di motherboard(iGPU) dan GPU discrete (add-on).
Ada 2 fitur utama pada teknologi Nvida Hybrid SLI,diantara nya;

Nvidia Hybrid Power

yaitu teknologi penghematan energi yang dapat diaktifkan jika kita ingin memakai GPU onboard saja,misal untuk keperluan browsing internet atau melihat film standard, atau mendengarkan musik. Dengan mengaktifkan fitur ini kita bisa mematikan komsumsi watt GPU add-on sampai 0%. Fitur ini hanya terdapat di Vista & 7 dengan konfigurasi, mGPU yang utama dan dGPU yang sub,sehingga fitur dapat aktif.

Nvidia Geforce Boost

adalah teknologi dari nvidia yang berfungsi sebagai inti dari Hybrid SLI, menggabungkan kinerja 2 GPU antara mGPU dan dGPU, untuk merendering frame-frame yang berbeda seperti High end game atau HD/Blueray movie, agar kinerja grafis dapat terangkat samapi 40%. Prinsipnya, onboard GPU akan memanggil dan mengaktifkan GPU tambahan agar memproses grafis secara bersama-sama, sehingga beban grafis dari suatu aplikasi dapat dibagi 2 atau lebih. Konsekuensi dari fitur ini adalah pemakaian watt yang besar, jika anda ingin memiliki fitur SLI disarankan memiliki kapasitas PSU sekitar 550watt minimal,untuk menjaga kestabilan sistem dan hardware anda.

Sebagai contoh, saya sendiri menggunakan fitur Hybrid SLI ini pada PC saya yaitu motherboard XFX GeForce 8200. Pada saat memainkan game PES 2011 di Windows 7, tampilan grafisnya saya akui benar-benar realistis dengan directX 10. Tidak ada bottleneck selama bermain.

GeForce 8200 chipset untuk Hybrid SLI kira-kira mempunyai arsitektur seperti ini terlepas dari merk motherboardnya ;

Saat ini memang Hybrid SLI lebih banyak didukung oleh Processor AMD dikarenakan, Intel masih jarang dan mungkin tidak memakai teknologi ini.

Untuk tipe GPU add-on nya saya sarankan memakai 8400GS atau 8500GT, jika chipsetnya 8200, jika terlalu superior vga eksternalnya, bisa bottleneck atau incompatible bahkan crash di OS.

AMD dan Intel mengusung teknologi yang berbeda pada setiap produk mereka, sehingga menghasilkan beberapa perbedaan, diantaranya;

1. Set instruksi pada Intel adalah MMX, SSE,SSE2, dan SSE3, tetapi pada AMD

SSE2 dan 3DNow. Tetapi dari sekian banyak istruksi yang dipakai oleh intel

lebih murah.

9. Pada prosesor Intel Pentium 4 harga standard, kinerjanya lumanyan cepat.

Memang sih, untuk urusan grafis masshi kalah dibanding dengan AMD, tapi

paling tidak prosesor Intel tidak cepat panas.

10. Pada prosesor AMD Athlon harganya agak lebih murah dibanding Intel. Grafis bagus

banget, kecepatannya lumayan, tapi cepet banget panas dibandingkan Intel.

Sebenarnya game FPS ini sudah lawas,tapi tidak ada salahnya kalau saya mereview lagi, karena menurut saya, setelah saya mainkan game ini, overall cukup bagus, diatas CS: Condition Zero sedikit.

Berkisah tentang, Logan Bolt, yang merupakan anggota tentara SpecForce elit. Cerita nya cukup transparan, dan karena tidak ada cutscenes besar digame, sebagian besar informasi plot yang Anda terima berasal dari beberapa teks singkat pada layar loading sebelum misi masing-masing. Rupanya ada semacam konflik turun di planet Estrella, dan SpecForce telah bertugas untuk mengurusnya. Bolt Logan dan tentara SpecForce harus berjuang dengan susah payah melalui hutan dan pangkalan militer untuk hack komputer, meledakkan struktur kunci, simpan tahanan, dan sebagainya.
